Impact Testing

The Charpy impact test, also known as the Charpy V-notch test, is a standardized high strain-rate test which determines the amount of energy absorbed by a material during fracture. This absorbed energy is a measure of a given material's notch toughness and acts as a tool to study temperature-dependent ductile-brittle transition. It is widely applied in industry, since it is easy to prepare and conduct and results can be obtained quickly and cheaply.

At Subodh we conduct impact tests as per ASTM E23 as well as ISO 148 on calibrated machines of Capacity 400 J and 300 J at various temperatures ranging from ambient to Sub Zero (minus 196 Deg.C)

Charpy Impact Testing Machine calibrated as per ASTM E23 & ISO 148

400 Joules Double Column Best in Class Robust Impact Testing Machine. Resolution of 0.2 Joules

Subodh Technologists (ST) has introduced 400 Joules Impact Testing Machine at its lab in Rabale, Navi Mumbai, India.

With this, ST becomes one of the very few commercial metallurgical testing houses in the country to have this facility. The Machine is calibrated as per ASTM E23 and ISO 148. Indirect Verification is successfully done by NIST USA specimen.
